Yoga with Danielle GenereuxKripalu YogaBefore discovering the world of yoga, Danielle Genereux worked as an Energy Therapist in private practice here in Toronto, offering Shiatsu, Reiki, Polarity Therapy, Jin Shin Acupressure and Therapeutic Touch sessions to clients from all walks of life. Her keen interest in the healing arts, natural health and energy led her to study Tai Chi and eventually teach it to various groups, including seniors, on a regular basis.
About nine years ago, however, Danielle was introduced to Kripalu Yoga while on her own personal, spiritual journey and immediately fell in love with that yogic tradition. In June 2008, she completed the 200-hour Kripalu Yoga Teacher Training program at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts, USA. In 2010, she also completed her Yin Yoga Teacher Training Level I with internationally renown teacher Sarah Powers. Throughout the years, Danielle attended Yin Yoga workshops with Paul Grilley and Bernie Clarke here in Toronto. In addition to teaching yoga, Danielle organizes and facilitates yoga retreats locally and internationally. Bali in Indonesia, Peru, Costa Rica and Guatemala are her favourite yoga destinations. Danielle is fluent in French, English and Spanish. She also has some basic knowledge of Japanese. Every year, she takes part in local 10-day Vipassana silent retreats. Danielle has been teaching Yin Yoga and Kripalu Yoga classes for the past 4 years. She is a member in good standing of the Yoga Alliance, Kripalu Yoga Teacher Association, and Canadian Reiki Association.
