A lifelong mover and athlete, Emily loves playing around in that awesome intersection between Restorative movement and strength-based training modalities.
Growing up playing sports familiarized her with strength training and conditioning, physiotherapy, and chiropractic as part of general upkeep and injury rehab, but the power of Pilates didn’t enter the picture until later in life (as much as she wishes it had earlier!). While working in sedentary desk jobs for several years, Emily found that she could never quite figure out what good posture looked or felt like in her body...except when she came out of Pilates classes.
Curious to know more, Emily completed her Mat Pilates teacher training with Leslie Parker at Mindful Movement Centre as well as a Restorative Pilates certification with Evelyn Charters. These and more training programs have brought insight into all of the wonderful smaller, deeper, stabilizing muscles that she had never been taught to train growing up but have made so much difference to her wellness since.
Emily’s classes are all about finding the fun combined with the challenge, so that you leave a little (or maybe a lot) sweaty and with a big smile on your face! She looks forward to welcoming you to her group classes, and helping you to re-connect with and feel better in your body.
