What makes you laugh?
More like WHO - My partner has an uncanny ability to sing me songs, which are all made up on the spot and somehow always include my name. I'm amazed he can still come up with new jingles and they leave us both laughing!
What is your favourite dessert and why?
I don't really have a sweet tooth (salty is more my thing), but I do love baked goods from Bunner's Bakeshop here in Toronto! They've figured out how to make gluten-free and vegan baking taste amazing.
Do you have a pet?
Mittens a.k.a. Karma the Cat!
What's the best part of your private practice at Boomerang?
I love hovering around at the studio, ready to answer any fun questions sent my way. I also love supporting people to make healthier food and lifestyle choices, often reminding folks that food can be about enjoyment and nourishment.
How do you move outside the studio?
I walk everywhere, regardless of the weather! Getting outside in the city or in nature is aways good for my body and soul.
What is your favourite food?
I'm all about soul food, and this season I'm loving Congee! Congee (a popular Asian porridge) is a perfect cool weather breakfast bowl alternative to smoothie bowls. I add in my homemade bone broth to adzuki beans, millet and rice, let it simmer for a long time until it becomes porridge. Garnish with fresh green onions, hard boiled egg or avocado, and a little kimchi!
What's something about you that might surprise people?
Often people assume that because I'm a nutritionist that I'm vegan! Not true! I sometimes moonlight as a DJ, and I've been a fire performer in the past!
