Do you have a pet?
I have an ancient, long haired tabby named Martin. He thinks his job is to yowl, go outside and come back in. He gets paid in wet food!
What makes you laugh?
My husband and kids make me laugh all the time. I laugh so hard I lose the ability to speak. They think it's hilarious and egg me on!
What is your favourite dessert and why?
My favourite dessert is called Saucy Mocha Pudding. It is a dense vanilla cake floating in an ocean of mocha sauce. What's not to love?? My mother made it for us when I was a kid, so it is not only delicious but it has a sentimental background and reminds me of her every time I make it. xoxo Mum!
What's the best part of your practice at Boomerang?
The best part of my practice is all of it... my clients who I love, the fact that I get to work with an amazing team of experienced, devoted professionals, that I have a fireplace and fuzzy trees in my studio, that I get to visit with all the other awesome people in the building... I can't narrow it down!
How do you move outside the studio?
I love going for hikes and experiencing all that variety of terrain ad I get to move in a totally different way when I scuba dive!
What is your favourite exercise?
My favourite Pilates exercise is the Mermaid with its gorgeous opportunity for shoulder strength and a long side stretch. My favourite Restorative Exercise move is the Rhomboid Push Up which combines scapular mobility with upper body strength, whole body positioning and is a great prep for all the plank-type exercises!
What's something about you that might surprise people?
I was really sickly as a kid and thought of myself as very uncoordinated and non-physical. Even though I did gymnastics and synchro swimming, was on the swim team as a distance swimmer (not the A team, I hasten to add...) and could bench more than my body weight when I was a stagehand, it wasn't until I discovered Pilates that I finally connected to movement and felt really good at it!
